Meghan and her husband John live in the greater Kansas City area with their young child Rosemary who can be seen toddling about the school on occasion. She went to St. James Academy and studied English at KU while simultaneously studying the Great Books at the St. Lawrence Center, receiving college credit through Benedictine. The duality of philosophies between KU and BC gave her a well rounded understanding of Western Literature and how a liberal school like KU's english department approaches its past. She wrote her senior thesis on Til We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis. She once had a professor remark, "I specifically told my students not to write about religion because they can't separate their ideas from their feelings. You have successfully done it despite my assertions. A++"
After college she spent a couple years as a postulant in a monastery in France, studying theology and church doctrine under the tutelage of the nuns. The majority of her professional career has been in Youth Ministry because of her strong charism for working with adolescents and teens. Her bread and butter, however, is literature and she is excited to reembark within the realm of her two great passions: literature and young people.
Apart from being a stay-at-home mother, helping her daughter to grow with books, puzzles, and the great outdoors, she spends her free time sewing, crocheting, and crafting terrariums for local farmer's markets or Christmas presents for her growing family.
Her favorite way to pray is manducation of the Gospel (a form of Lectio Divina). Her favorite book is The Silmarillion. Her favorite food is boudin blanc with boiled potatoes and apples. Her biggest bucket list item is to walk El Camino de Santiago from La Porte de Saint Jacques all the way to Santiago.
